About Ariella Thorne

Ariella Thorne is a New Zealand–based author, full-time healthcare professional, wife, and mum. An introvert at heart, she finds inspiration in Korean dramas, anime, manga, and the quiet moments that spark new stories. When she's not writing, she's usually running on coffee and wondering how there are never enough hours in the day.
🌹My journey with writing started earlier than I expected. Back in high school, I wrote my first BL (Boys’ Love) short story—well, almost a novella—about two boys navigating something forbidden and tender. It was careful and clean, but with certain angst and confusion common among boys coming of age. I lost the one and only copy of it, which still stings a little. Back then, I never imagined I'd eventually write a full-length novel, but here we are.
I majored in Creative Writing and published a horror anthology of short stories as part of thesis on horror classics. As a long-time Stephen King devotee, I brought that same dedication to craft into my studies, analyzing what makes stories burrow under our skin and refuse to let go. Then life happened. Career happened. But the stories never really stopped.
Now I write MM contemporary romance, bringing the same attention to character and storytelling I've always valued as a reader. I'm drawn to relationships that feel real and complicated, to moments that crack characters open and show us who they truly are.
Things I'm Obsessed With:
🌼Tolkien's entire universe - Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, all of it
🌼Japanese pop culture: anime (One Piece, Naruto) and manga
🌼Stephen King and the art of storytelling that keeps you up at night
🌼Horror classics - Poe, Stoker, Lovecraft
🌼Reading. So much reading. My Kindle is a testament to optimism and my complete inability to resist a good blurb.
🌼Adding books to my TBR pile faster than physics should allow.
